Revo Design is a collaboration between architectural designers Christopher Wingate and Wesley Stabs. Our partnership began when we met in the University of Minnesota undergraduate architecture program. Over the past three years, we have produced multiple competition winning designs. Our working dynamic seems to be pulled from a Laurel and Hardy movie. Individually we occupy opposite ends of the modern design / traditional practicality spectrum and seem to approach just about every issue from a different viewpoint. But when we combine our approaches, the result is an architecture not of Either/Or but of Both/And. Revo Design’s philosophy toward design “half as big and twice as nice” places emphasis on essential project characteristics such as program adjacencies, spatial efficiencies, energy conservation, and contextual and environmental sensitivity. Our collaborative approach teases out the synergies inherent in each new architectural challenge, leading to real-world designs that still push the boundaries of what is possible.
Wes has worked at LHB, an architectural firm in Duluth, for over 8 years. Recently, he was accepted to Ball State University (Muncie, IN) to complete his Masters in Architecture Degree. Chris has worked at UrbanWorks Architecture in Minneapolis over the last 3 years. This September, Chris started graduate school and is completing dual Master of Architecture and Master of Science in Sustainable Design degrees at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities.
