Tony Viscardi: good job amy I think your design is simply yet elegant and provides a wonderful user experience...I think dividing the house is a good solution as it invites the outside in between living functions...good luck and keep in touch your old professor Tony

Christopher: The section drawing with 3d arrows is very fresh. I like the natural ventilation and all the rain water catchment. The big open view from the living room really emphasizes the water and the horizon. Bravo.

Toby: Love the way the house opens up to the water. Each room has such a great view!

MattP: I do like the flow a lot. Unfortunately, the design is not very practical. The doors and windows do not address screens. If you ever lived on a lake or ocean you know insects are an issue. Although nice in theory, the window and doors are not very practical. Having one whole side of the house with small 'clerestory' windows is great for an accent but not as the primary source of viewing for almost the whole side of the house. At only 20' wide, could be a nice alternative to a trailer home. I do not mean that as an insult. Designing for the masses as in post WWII with small ranch houses served their purpose. This house, if a little narrower could be assembled in a factory and delivered in 3 pieces. Something to noodle on.

Bernie Garofola: The design is very modern, Has simple, clean and calming design. It should be a quite, relaxing place to unwind.

Mark Leveno: Thanks everyone for the kind comments. To answer the question about the furniture, with the exception of the Eames Chair and sofa, all of the furniture, including the red rocker, I designed. Thanks again. Mark and Amy

Jackie: I love the idea of foldaway walls!
  • 1/19/2011

Pat: When can I move in?
  • 1/19/2011

Marsha M. Carpenter: I love the open feeling of the design and the space for books - what else besides the view and the chance for relaxation would you want in a vacation/get-away home? Also - one floor! Young or old it provides for ease of access. My home was picked from designs and faces a pond but the open view is not near what this one is!

Homans: clean, crisp, functional without losing the important "comfortable" factor
  • 1/19/2011

    G. Wolfe: I really like the red chairs. Did you design those? I have never seen them before.
