My name is Mike Benkert and I am a recent graduate from the University of Cincinnati's Master of Architecture program. My academic and professional focus has centered around the model of architect as developer as a means of facilitating economically, ecologically, and socially integrated development, and my designs draw from various experiences working in architecture firms, development offices, and on construction sites. The end goal is the production of elegant, profitable projects that benefit both shareholders and (community and environmental) stakeholders alike.

Ronald Joseph: From a 25 year builder/developer, kudos to an architect who is goint to have his designs built rather than reside in a file. Benkert has the right balance of green (of the enviromental sort) and green (of the "can this house be built and sold at a price buyers will pay and the builder be compensated for his effort and risk?" sort.)

Michael McCalley: This one gets my vote for its simple, straight-forwarded plan which ought to be economical, easily constructed, and resource-conscious. Since it's only 18 ft wide, it seems that the floor could be spanned with a single set of joists. The lay-out of rooms looks both logical and liveable. Scale of rooms looks appropriate. My most major tweak would be with window sizes & locations. Bravo on a great plan.
