This is the second in our series of Meet the Vendor Articles for the Needham Green Showcase Home. Kohler is a major project sponsor and Kohler water conserving fixtures, faucets, and toilets are being used throughout the home. You will have to wait for the full plan to be released to see the exact products that have been specified, but we have seen them and they are an amazing mix of design and water efficiency. Please see below for their Meet the Vendor article and we are excited to continue to introduce you to the green home product companies involved in this great project.
Kohler® – Conservation. Innovation
Throughout its more than 135-year history, Kohler Co. has remained true to its founding vision of defining the frontiers of ideas, craftsmanship and technology. The Company strives to establish new levels of excellence within each industry and market it serves as it fulfills its mission of “improving the level of gracious living” for each person who is touched by its products and services.
As a global design and technology leader of products for the kitchen and bath, Kohler Co. offers plumbing products under its KOHLER® and STERLING® brands that are designed to conserve natural resources while remaining true to a singular level of quality for performance and design. Whether specifying plumbing products that help buildings earn LEED® water-efficiency points, reducing facility operating costs or accommodating the preferences of homeowners, environmentally conscious KOHLER fixtures and faucets address the challenging demands of customers and preserve one of our most precious natural resources.
“Using water more wisely – especially potable water which uses energy and chemicals to treat – is imperative, as supplies are limited and our population and economy are growing,” said Rob Zimmerman, senior staff engineer for Kohler’s water conservation initiatives. “Public education, along with new water-efficient products and building design methods, are critical to contain water use. Plumbing manufacturers such as Kohler are responding to this need by developing new products that use less water, but don't sacrifice performance.”
Through the efforts of extensive research and product development, Kohler seeks to offer the most choices in low-consumption products for both residential and commercial applications and further establish its industry leadership in offering high-performing plumbing products that save water. With its large portfolio of water-conserving toilet, urinal and faucet technologies, Kohler is well-equipped to provide aggressive water saving solutions for both commercial and residential applications. Additionally, Kohler offers kitchen and bath products constructed of KOHLER Cast Iron which is composed of 93% recycled and reclaimed materials.
