Hi All,

Thanks to everyone for your continued support and interest.  We have now broken 2,000 plan downloads (OK, we will now stop announcing plan download achievements until 10,000), 1,500 registered users, and are getting 30,000 visitors a month.  Again, not too bad for being around for 2 months and a week.

So the question that everyone has been asking is:  “what is up FreeGreen’s proverbial sleeves” .  As always your wish is our command so see below for our next moves:

The Simple Villa

This is the name of our new product line to be out at the end of June (it is replacing the California Casual).  This product line is being developed for the south and southwestern regions with a true Mediterranean feel.  The concept for this design is to re-establish the concept of a Villa.  Typically homes with this monicur have been reserved for Princes from far away lands and George Colney vacation homes.  We believe that this need not be the case.  The Simple Villa will contain all of the amenities, ascetic features, and comforts of a true Italian style villa, but we will use creative design techniques to bring down the price point and increase its energy efficiency.  We hope that you like this design and look forward to bringing you to the Mediterranean cost line, with out all those expensive plan tickets and cramped coach seats.

The First Built FreeGreen Home

Yes that’s right, we now have real confirmation that one of our plans is going to get built.  We are in negotiations with a builder based out of Austin, Texas and Atlanta, Georgia to build the first FreeGreen Spec home.  There will be many more details to follow once we have come to an agreement, but this is a very exciting moment for all of us.  We look forward to sharing the details and construction photos soon.

The Builder Product Line

We have now interviewed a number of our builder users to better understand how they would like to use our site.  What we have found is that all of the “pretty content” (interior renderings, extensive virtual tours, detailed home plan narratives, etc.) is not really all that useful to them.  What they need are simple designs with many lot and façade options which can fit into a development scale project.  So as always we ask our customers, learn from them, and then deliver.  That said, we will be creating The Builder Product Line.  This will be a specific Product Line on our site that will not be dedicated to a style or lifestyle, but rather to the needs and desires of our builder users.  The styles of these homes will be more mainstream, but will cross the aesthetic desires of the entire United States.  We are working on the early designs right now (which I will share soon) and will be releasing the first designs for this Product Line in July.
