John and Mary: Great use of natural lighting. Love the sun deck with the tree over a functional patio. It is a great, unique extension of the home on two levels. Fresh and relaxing, this would work for us on Lake Michigan in Door County. This would not only be a great design for a small lakefront lot but would also fit in an environment of a large remote property in the middle of nowhere. A nice change from the big monstrous, complicated homes we are used to.

Marina perez de mendiola: Easy living, modern with room for books, workshop/play/art, with space for color, outdoor/indoor living, bright and light, user friendly for family or not, animals or not. Sun deck for views with privacy, patio for community gathering, herb garden with potential for more vegetable beds. Not too big, not too small, size of the future, architecture pleasing to the eye even for more traditional taste. Great!

  • 1/18/2011

Susan R: A gorgeous interplay of of early modern and very contemporary. There is a sense of freshness from every point of view and the use of red, the most difficult of colors in most contexts, works beautifully and gives the home a unique presence and nice counterpoint to the landscape. I wish that we could all join a raffle to win this fabulous house.
  • 1/18/2011

Laura: Wow. When can I move in. I love how its so opened up to the natural surroundings. How serene!
  • 1/18/2011

Yvette: Images 4 and 9 sell me on this design. 4 highlights how the clever use of color elevates this design above the typical "sad hipster" decor that so many people like nowadays, and the bookshelves on the second floor are an ingenious use of space that give the feeling of different rooms even though the design is very open space. Photo 9 is just very clean and shows how the house sits in nature without unduly interrupting it, but still provides adequate paved space for a modern family.
