  • floorplan first floor Zoom

The Family of Four is a generously sized home with traditional amenities, that still emphasizes the open, integrated, and clutter-free spaces needed for modern life. Nine foot ceilings on the first floor create a stunning entrance and complement the free-flowing floor plan. The placement of the den and dining room near the front entrance subtly separates the formal (dining and studying) and informal spaces (kitchen and family room). This division creates amazing flexibility that easy accommodates both casual parties with friends and formal holiday dinners.

  • floorplan second floor Zoom

The mudroom and 2nd floor laundry room provide ample storage and efficient living for today’s busy life, while the large master bedroom suite and luxurious bathroom make for an oasis away from the hustle and bustle.

  • Front of House Zoom

    House Text:
The Family of Four is a generously proportioned home with all the open, integrated, and clutter-free spaces needed for modern family life. Nine-foot ceilings on the first floor create a stunning entrance and complement the free-flowing floor plan. In addition to all the traditional amenities, this home provides ample storage space in the mudroom and second-floor laundry room. The placement of the den and dining room at the front of the house subtly separates formal and informal spaces, which allows for amazing flexibility in entertaining.

  • Entryway Zoom

    Room Text:
At the entrance to the Family of Four, 9-foot-ceilings enhance the view to the gorgeous French doors at the rear of the house. This open line also allows for wonderful cross-ventilation in the summer months. Formal dining (to the left) and study spaces (to the right) are located at the front of the home to create space for quiet reading or formal parties away from the traffic of the kitchen and living room. A coat closet is conveniently located for the use of arriving guests. The righthand room can be turned into a library, study, office, or crafts room.

A programmable thermostat in the hallway provides central climate management. Energy Star-rated recessed and compact fluorescent lighting add to the energy performance of the home.

  • Kitchen Zoom

    Room Text:
Designed to be the hub of family life, this kitchen features 53 square feet of countertop—ample space for the whole family to cook dinner together or grab breakfast piecemeal during the busy morning. The kitchen island provides a social centerpoint, allowing the chef to clean veggies at the sink or load the built-in dishwasher while facing into the living area. The French doors and windows let great natural lighting flood the room during the day, while the light cove above the cabinets provides ample light for evening. On the ceiling, the coordinated bamboo trim catches the eye and creates visual separation within the expansive space.

  • Living Room\Kitchen Zoom

    Room Text:
Our designers created this space to accommodate the everyday routines of today’s modern family. As mom and dad come home after a full day, they and the kids enter the home directly from the garage to the mudroom where coats and shoes can be put away and organized to reduce clutter. Next, keys and cellphones can be placed on the office hutch for storage and recharging. When the family returns from a grocery run, the island, high pantry, and built-in refrigerator are strategically placed to allow for easy unloading. This open kitchen and living room space allows everyone to be involved in conversations whether they are prepping food, watching TV, or checking e-mail.

  • Living Room Zoom

    Room Text:
This room lets in amazing natural light without sacrificing the space needed for a great media center. French doors lead directly to the patio, adding highly desirable indoor/outdoor living flexibility for warmer seasons. The fireplace serves as an anchor during family gatherings without overwhelming the space. This room is spacious enough to fit a large couch and chairs and gives owners total flexibility in furniture arrangement.

  • Bedroom Zoom

    Room Text:
Window placement and flexibility were critical considerations in the bedroom. Our designers created this attractive space to maximize window area and allow for multiple room configurations. With more than 300 square feet, the bedroom is a private oasis—a place to retire from the bustle of the day.

  • Bathroom Zoom

    Room Text:
The luxurious bathroom features generous space for both tub and shower stall; there is a separate room for the toilet. The thoughtfully placed window lets in plenty of natural light without sacrificing privacy. His and her vanities allow for an efficient morning routine and give each partner some personal space. In the foreground to the right are built-in shelves for bath towels. Finally, an Energy Star bathroom fan maintains indoor air quality by removing moisture and mitigating against mold growth.

  • Green Features Zoom

    Optimal Orientation:
The front door should faces north so that the majority of the home’s windows face south. Southern-facing windows are ideal for passive solar heating. Nevertheless, this design will still be very efficient if built in a different direction. FreeGreen can customize plans for your specific building site.

    Multiple Roof Profiles:
By installing solar panels, you essentially buy your energy instead of renting it from a utility company. FreeGreen provides two different roof profile options so that you can install up to 3kW of solar panels on your roof in a variety of orientations.

    Building Envelope
The building envelope is the barrier between the indoor and outdoor environment. The quality of a home’s building envelope is the difference between an energy efficient, healthy home and a leaky, unhealthy home. This FreeGreen design features an efficient wall construction detail and specifies high performance windows and doors to provide you with a safe and comfortable home.

Reliable and Efficient Heating and Cooling Systems
Heating and cooling represent the largest energy loads in a home. High efficiency and properly sized furnaces and air conditioning units greatly reduce energy consumption.

    Cost Effective Innovative Technologies
FreeGreen has selected innovative building technologies that provide exceptional performance relative their cost.
